General Rules
When you fish a Wild Carp Club of Houston event, you agree to abide by the following club rules at all times. If you do not follow these rules, your catches for the event may be disqualified and/or your inclusion in the club may be reviewed.
- Anglers must have a valid Texas Freshwater Fishing License!!!
- Anglers must be 16 years of age or older to keep score. Younger anglers may still fish
- Scores are kept for each event based on total weight of fish caught
- Qualifying fish are common carp, smallmouth buffalo, white amur (grass carp), and koi
- Mirror carp and koi count as double weight
- All catches must be certified by another Wild Carp Club member
- Anglers can enter or leave the event at any time
- Maintain good sportsmanship at all times
- A maximum of three rods are permitted to be fishing for qualifying fish. Anglers can fish for non-qualifying species with another pole while waiting for a run, but if you catch a qualifying fish on it, it will not count.
- Anglers are allowed to have one hook per rod (no double/triple rigs).
- A landing mat must be used when landing all fish. If you do not have a landing mat, the Club Director will run down and provide you with one before the net is removed from the water.
- Catch and release only
- Prebaiting is allowed one week before day sessions. Prebaiting is not allowed before the overnight sessions.
